Education
The Education Committee is responsible for all education programming, including preschool through adult Sunday morning classes, book studies and/or bible studies for adults, and the Fourth Friday Food For Thought (FFFFT) events. The Education Committee meets once a month.
The Sunday School classes are held on the third floor on Sundays beginning in the month of September and ending in the month of May. The Sunday School offers a variety of activities such as a lectionary-based curriculum, music and service projects. Each month the Sunday School kids from Pre-K to Confirmation gather in a big group to celebrate their attendance and participation in a gathering called Breakfast Club.
The groupings fall under Pre-K for ages three to four, Angels for ages five to seven, Children of Abraham for ages eight to twelve, and Confirmation Class for ages thirteen to fifteen (Middle School age).
The high school class meets monthly with an adult member of the congregation as a facilitator on a variety of topics of interest such as on issues of growing up. The Adult Forum meets on Sundays in the Lounge for discussion on books/lessons and readings on faith and religion.
The Fourth Friday Food For Thought is a gathering for discussion of a current event led by a speaker. Hors d'oeuvres and wine are served, followed by a potluck dinner. It is held on a fourth Friday between 5:30 to 7:30 P.M.
The education classes are held from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM. To visit us, or for more information, contact the church office at 708-386-1576.
