NAMI Metro Suburban offers a variety of mental health programs in Cook County for those living with mental health conditions and their loved ones.

Our Recovery Programs are designed to support individuals in managing mental health challenges, while our Family Programs provide vital assistance to families and caregivers. We also offer educational programs for students, teachers, and parents through our Community Programs to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental illnesses.
We believe that prioritizing mental health strengthens communities, shared experiences empower individuals, and access to quality mental health care is a fundamental right.

The Community Fridge Project is powered by dedicated volunteers and organizers in Oak Park and the Austin neighborhood of Chicago who believe access to food is a basic human right. We are neighbors helping neighbors.

The Community Fridge Project began with a simple belief: no one in our community should go hungry when food is available. What started as a single refrigerator on a neighborhood corner has grown into a network of community fridges serving both Oak Park, IL and the Austin neighborhood of Chicago.
We operate on the principles of mutual aid — neighbors helping neighbors, with no hierarchy, no gatekeeping, and no judgment. Our fridges are open to everyone, always free, and stocked daily by community members just like you.

We believe housing is a basic human right.
We transition people from housing crisis to a permanent and stable home in their community. Through impactful services and strategic partnerships, we find innovative, systemic solutions to end homelessness.

Our strength is in our determination to end homelessness and our proven record doing so - one individual at a time.
